“These Things We Do, That Others May Live”

Memorial Golf Outing

One of the larger events our Foundation holds annually is a Memorial Golf Outing. Each year in early Spring, golfers in Western Pennsylvania emerge from their Winter hiatus and flock to golf courses in the region eager to begin golfing once again. Our Foundation holds an annual golf tournament to help these golfers kick-off the upcoming season and help our Foundation in the process.

The Captain Sean M. Ruane Foundation strives to provide a fantastic golf experience at one the areas more prestigious public golf courses. The Annual Captain Sean M. Ruane Foundation Memorial Golf Outing @ Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway, PA. The participant’s entry fee includes a donation to the Foundation. Corporate sponsorships are also available at various levels and can include spots in the outing if the donor so chooses. Contact us to find out more about participating in this event as a golfer, sponsor, or both for the upcoming year.

The day begins with registration, followed by some practice swings on the range or putting green. Following a few words from the Foundation event coordinator, a Shotgun start begins the event. As the golfers make their way through the challenging layout of Quicksilver, they have various chances to win skill prizes, including a hole in one prize of a brand new car.  Also on the course, our beverage carts keep the participants well hydrated and their swings 'well-oiled'. Afterward, participants join the Foundation in a post-round buffet luncheon, which includes a great basket raffle.  To conclude the day, our Board share remarks about Sean & how the participants charitable contributions are utilized in support of our mission.

Thank you to players, sponsors and donors for their continued support of our Foundation!
