“These Things We Do, That Others May Live”

Cornhole Tournament

The biggest fundraising event of the year holds a special place in our hearts. The Cornhole Tournament was our first ever event and it has grown each and every year since. In 2014, everyone was looking for a way to celebrate Sean’s life, the things he loved, and be of support to those who were left to grieve his loss.  Our newly formed Foundation rallied around the family and created an event that would help shape the direction of our charitable efforts forever.

Held at the Greater Pittsburgh Aquatic Club each year in late Summer, the Cornhole Tournament is much more than just a tournament; It is a community celebration, as attendees do not need to play in the tournament to join us for the event!  Participants join the Foundation for a day of food, beverages, games and fellowship. There is a variety of food available throughout the day, along with domestic and craft beer and a fantastic array of prizes in a basket raffle. All of which is generously donated by supporters and businesses in our community.

The day begins with the playing of our National Anthem. The tournament starts around noon & the event crowns ultimate winners who receive a trophy and prizes. Throughout the day lunch and dinner are served, as the DJ keeps the crowd entertained and dancing between their turn on the boards. A duck race down the Ohio River is a bright spot for many patrons as well. Sean was a lover of craft beer, so the craft beer bar is the place to relax & sample some of the best craft beer in the area. After the tournament winners are crowned, raffle prizes are drawn. Then at twilight, a lantern ceremony is held as the events of January 7, 2014 are read, including the playing of Taps to conclude our day of celebration.
